Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you visit bagiq.app, use the BagIQ disc golf bag tool at app.bagiq.app, or sign up to receive emails from us. We are based in the UK and process personal data in line with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), and other relevant privacy laws.
Golf With Discs is the data controller. Contact us at [email protected] for any privacy questions.
1. The BagIQ app (app.bagiq.app)
The BagIQ bag tool stores all bag data locally in your browser using localStorage. No bag data, disc selections, labels, or preferences are sent to our servers. No account is required. We do not collect or process any personally identifiable information when you use the app itself.
We use PostHog, a privacy-first analytics tool, to understand how the app is used. PostHog is configured with no cookies, no IP address logging, and no personal profiles. Only anonymous usage events are collected, such as which features are used and how often. PostHog processes this data on EU servers.
2. Email sign-up (bagiq.app)
When you sign up through the email form on bagiq.app, we collect your email address and the date and time of sign-up. We use this to send occasional updates about BagIQ, including new features, useful disc golf content, and anything else worth knowing. No filler.
We use Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) to manage our email list and send emails. Your email address is stored with Brevo. Brevo may transfer data outside the UK or EEA. Where this happens, appropriate safeguards apply, including Standard Contractual Clauses.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send. We may keep a suppression record after you unsubscribe to make sure we do not contact you again by mistake.
The legal basis for processing your email address is your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing.
3. Website analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics on bagiq.app. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless and does not track individuals. It collects only aggregate data such as page views, country, and browser type. No personal data is stored or shared. This does not require your consent under PECR.
4. Cookies
The BagIQ marketing site (bagiq.app) does not use cookies. The app (app.bagiq.app) uses localStorage to store your bag data locally. localStorage is not a cookie and is not sent to any server. No tracking cookies are used on either site.
5. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to object to processing; and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. You can also contact the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
6. Data retention
Email subscription data is retained while you remain subscribed. After unsubscribing, we may keep a suppression record. Analytics data is aggregated and anonymised. We do not retain any bag or disc data because it is stored only in your browser.
7. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services:
- Brevo — email list management and delivery
- PostHog (EU) — anonymous, cookieless app analytics
- Cloudflare — web performance, security, and cookieless website analytics
- Cloudflare Pages — website and app hosting
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The latest version will always be at bagiq.app/privacy.html with the updated date shown above.
